From NAEA Executive Director Deborah B. Reeve:
With summer approaching, the schedules of many educators change, allowing more time for activities that enrich and rejuvenate body and mind. As artists and educators, this can be a time to find inspiration, refresh our creative spirit, and diversify and amplify our perspectives. This can impact our lives, our careers, and our classrooms.
In the spirit of summertime enrichment, I would like to invite you to attend SummerVision DC 2013 (SVDC). Reserve your place among a distinguished cadre of preservice, k-12, higher education, museum education, supervision/administration, and retired visual arts education professionals, representing more than 33 states! Gain a fresh perspective as an artist and educator by exploring permanent collections, current exhibitions, and many of Washington, DC's world-renowned museums as a work of art!
Share this information with NAEA members in your state, too! Let them know about this special invitation to go behind the scenes, explore sculpture gardens, examine artworks, and participate in studio and other hands-on learning opportunities while connecting with educators at these monumental museums:
National Gallery of Art and Sculpture Garden
The Freer Gallery of Art and Arthur M. Sackler Gallery
The National Museum of African Art
The National Museum of Women in the Arts
The Phillips Collection
National Building Museum
Corcoran Gallery of Art
Smithsonian American Art Museum
National Portrait Gallery
Space is limited in both sessions. So, register now and please extend this invitation to members in your state. Best wishes for a refreshing summer. I hope to see you in DC!
Sincerely,
Deborah B. Reeve
Executive Director
