Explore sophisticated and dynamic ways to access Native American Art.
You are invited to join us at the Museum to look, analyze, and discuss Native Art on display. Guest Lecturer, Artist and Educator Sara Siestreem (Confederated Band of Coos Indians) will teach participants to recognize Traditional, Customary, and Contemporary Native American Art. Participants will learn new terms and methods for analyzing materials, colors, symbols, narrative, and historical context—all of which have been designed to translate into your teaching practice. Join the conversation and gain critical perspectives for authentic and meaningful engagement with Native art.
5 – 5:30 p.m. Networking and Happy Hour, Stevens Board Room
5:30 – 6:15 p.m. Lecture, Whitsell Auditorium
6:15 – 7 p.m. Gallery Practice, Native American Galleries
